  16. There are two 28.8 initstrings there for newcom. I've tried both of
  17. them, and yours, Edwin (after I replaced that \% combination after the
  18. K5 with a %, and I never got that last %r to work).

  20. Anyway, none of those combinations, although they all seem to work,
  21. have worked as well as the basic (and extremely simple)
  22. Hayes-compatible ATZ init that my service at UWisconsin Madison
  23. recommends. Even though it "says" it's connecting at 2400, that one
  24. gives me consistently faster access without bad packet messages. My
  25. download speed with Netscape 2.0 hovers at around 2k per sec and
  26. graphics load FAST. I'd be interested in hearing how others' mileage
  27. may vary. I'm still using Win3.1 I understand Win95's dialler gets
  28. better speed.

  30. If you like your string better, you can add it to the list at Indiana
  31. so everybody can give it a try.
